Albany Co. DA candidate Lee Kindlon talks issues with NEWS10
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - There are three candidates running for Albany County District Attorney. One of them is democrat Lee Kindlon.
The defense attorney beat incumbent David Soares in the June Democratic Primary. Soares is still in the race, running as a write-in candidate. Republican Ralph Ambrosio is the third candidate.
One of the biggest issues in Albany County is bail reform. Kindlon says his opponents have complained about the policy since it was enacted in 2019. He claims they speak out but they don't offer any solutions.
Kindlon says bail reform is by no means perfect. But he says because of his experience as a defense attorney in the courtroom, he will be able to work with the policy to make sure defendants that should be locked up are not granted low bail.
Kindlon sat down with NEWS10's Ryan Peterson to discusses the issues affecting law and order in Albany County.
