'Fire with multiple explosions' in east Austin now out, AFD says

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A "fire with multiple explosions" reported in east Austin is now out, and no injuries were reported, the Austin Fire Department said Monday.

AFD said on social media it responded to the 5500 block of Sendero Hills Parkway around 2:30 p.m., which is near Agave Neighborhood Park. The agency said multiple callers said a dump truck and possible wood chipper were on fire, which caused "multiple explosions."

Around 3:10 p.m., AFD said the fire was out, and crews were "working to extinguish hot spots."
