MANCHESTER UNITED have thrashed Leicester 5-2 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Ruud van Nistelrooy‘s interim reign got off to a superb start with goals from Casemiro and Alejandro Garnacho early in the first half.
Bilal El Khannouss pulled one back for Leicester, but Bruno Fernandes’ deflected free-kick on 36 minutes re-established United‘s two-goal lead.
Minutes later, Casemiro slammed home his second of the night to make it 4-1 before Conor Coady’s close-range finish made it 4-2 going in at the interval.
In the second half, Fernandes pounced on a dreadful defensive error from the Foxes to secure a 5-2 win for United.
