Several stranded after vehicles towed during voting

0

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Several voters were left stranded after casting their ballots.

"I come back and our car is gone and I'm wondering what happened? What happened?," said Calvin Smith, a voter.

"The owner of Bedlam BBQ, called for a towing and signed some kind of paperwork for them to tow our vehicles," said Augustus Fields.

Cars were bumper to bumper down Lincoln Blvd.

People like Calvin Smith and Augustus Fields decided to park in the nearest parking lot.

After spending nearly two hours in line to vote, they came back to find their cars gone.

"I just wanted to vote. That's all I wanted to do. If I would have known it was a problem, I never would have parked my car here," said Smith.

Parking at the restaurant was a costly mistake.

The men were told they would have to pay over $200 to get their cars back.

"That's not fair and I and I feel like I feel like the owner could have had some like, consideration," said Smith.

We did try to contact the owner of the restaurant multiple times but we never heard back.
