IPL 2025 Retention Day Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Full Retained Players LIVE Updates: Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins and Abhishek Sharma are top retentions

IPL 2024 finalists Sunrisers Hyderabad have set the bar high when it comes to Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Retention Day. SRH are prepared to offer a whopping Rs 23 crore to their number one pick in the Retentions – South African batter Heinrich Klaasen.

It was reported that Klaasen had been approached by a couple of franchises ahead of retention day, including Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who wanted him to go into the auction. After discussions with Klaasen’s manager, SRH offered him a Rs 23 crore contract to retain him before the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Apart from Klaasen, SRH are also set to retain current skipper Pat Cummins from Australia at Rs 18 crore, down his current salary of Rs 20.75 crore. Their third retention is going to be young India opener Abhishek Sharma for Rs 14 crore. Abhishek scored 484 runs in 16 matches in IPL 2024 at a strike-rate of 204.22 with three fifties.

They have also finalised the retention of Australian opener Travis Head and India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. Head has been retained for Rs 14 crore – a big jump from his current salary of Rs 6.8 crore. Head had a remarkable season in the IPL 2024 with SRH, tallying 567 runs at a strike rate of 191.55 at the top of the order. In 2024, he also became only the second T20 batter to score 1000-plus runs at a strike rate of more than 175 and average of more than 40 in a year.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who made his debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh, has been signed up for Rs 6 crore, a big jump from Rs 20 lakh till IPL 2024. SRH will lose a massive chunk of their Rs 120 crore if they go ahead with this plan but will retain the major crux of their side. They now have lost Rs 75 crore out of their Rs 120 crore kitty and will go into the IPL 2025 mega auction with only Rs 45 crore.
