Coca-Cola Relaunching Beloved Mexican Soda Brand in These U.S. Markets
The Coca-Cola Company has a varied array of brands under its umbrella, and its latest move should come as welcome news for Mexican soda lovers.
Coca-Cola announced today that it is relaunching beloved Mexican soda brand Barrilitos and will begin sales in the California and Texas regions soon. Barrilitos has a rich history dating back almost a century; the Monterrey, Mexico-originated drink was first sold in 1938 and joined Coca-Cola's portfolio in 2008. The new relaunch, designed to reach Millennial and Gen Z customers, will give the brand a new look and new formula with four delicious flavors to try.
"Barrilitos is evolving to meet the needs of a new generation, without losing sight of its rich history," Barrilitos lead Maria Correa said in a statement. "We've infused Barrilitos with a refreshed brand identity while preserving the classic flavors and traditions that have made it a beloved part of Latino households. This relaunch is an invitation to experience Barrilitos and celebrate its heritage in a whole new way."
The new-and-improved Barrilitos comes in 12-ounce and 1.5-liter bottles and is available in four different flavors: mandarin, apple, pineapple, and fruit punch. Like the Mexican version of Coca-Cola, which has become increasingly popular here in the US, Barrilitos uses real cane sugar to create the bubbly sweetness we love. All bottles are produced and imported from Mexico and will be distributed in California, southern Nevada, Texas, and Oklahoma.
If Barrilitos is available near you, complement your next Mexican meal with an authentically Mexican soft drink.
