North Shore skinnies are alive and well

The fresh woodwork on Zen Garden is a must see! Give thanks to the volunteer trail builders- Chris, Linds, David, Ken, Chris W and Bryndon. The Zen Garden represents a huge passion project, and culmination of nearly 2 years of dedication for building unique features!

“I’ve been thinking about the different ways you could ride the Zen Garden since it started to take shape in the spring. It feels crazy to finally link the whole thing together like this! Classic shore conditions (pouring rain) with the fog in the air and the cedar so red. Just unbelievably happy with how fun and dynamic it ended up being to ride.

40+ days over the last year and a half have been made so memorable by the wonderful trail crew we have on Pipeline. We’re a funny bunch and span a few decades but we went out there rain or shine and always had a good time no matter what. We love to ride but somehow we’re even more addicted to building. Zen Garden is what happens when nobody can agree on the difficulty of a feature so you just build all of them.

It’s been incredible to see the reception from the riding community over the last couple weeks. Makes me so happy and proud to see the stoke and excitement we’ve generated. Each time I’ve been there since completion there were always several groups stopped to check out the different lines and it’s just so fun to session it with everyone.

Thanks Linds, David, Ken and Bryndon for spending those countless hours building this crazy and ambitious feature.

Pipeline crew is not done and while we’ll have a little break we have more ideas and plans than we have time in the meantime come to the Grand opening ride of the Zen Garden, Sunday, October 20th (10am at the water towers).”
