Columbus man sentenced for drug, gun crimes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A Columbus man will spend close to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to gun and drug crimes. 

Bernard Clark “Philly” McMillion, 32, pleaded guilty in June to conspiracy to distribute and possession of a controlled substance including 40 grams or more of fentanyl and five grams or more of methamphetamine. In addition, McMillion admitted to possessing a gun used to commit drug trafficking. 

McMillion was sentenced to 130 months in prison in U.S. District Court on Wednesday. 

According to court records, from the fall of 2022 through February 2023, McMillion and a co-defendant used a number of houses in central Ohio to traffic fentanyl, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine. Those houses included buildings on South Terrance, Doren, Columbian, Floral, and Springmont avenues and McCarley Drive West, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. 

 Two handguns and a 12-gauge shotgun were confiscated as part of the investigation. 

McMillion was indicted by a federal grand jury in February 2023.
