Match Preview: Spartans v Queen’s Park – Sun 3 Nov 24

0

The Spiders find themselves on the road again as they travel to the capital to face The Spartans as round two of fixtures in the ScottishPower WPL1 begins.

Both sides clashed at Ochilview Park in August; a game in which Queen’s Park ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a wonderful strike from Ami Robertson.

Craig Joyce’s side currently sit in 11th with only three points between them and their hosts in 8th.

The Spartans come into the game on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Celtic at New Douglas Park.

Ahead of the game, Craig Joyce commented: “It’s nice to be back to match action, in what will be a busy week for us with a game midweek also. That creates plenty of opportunities for minutes which is great for competitiveness within the squad. We’ve had a good two weeks of training since our last game, and everyone is raring to go.

Spartans were the first side we beat in the top league, which will give us tremendous confidence that we can get a positive result on Sunday. Thats not to say it’s not going to be a challenging game – Spartans have been on a reasonably good run of late, and I’m sure they’ll be ager to keep it going, so it has all the ingredients for a good match.”
