Cavaliers down the Bucks Mitchell’s game-winner
The Cavs came back from a 16-point deficit to win another tough road game.
In what was a big back-and-forth game, the Cleveland Cavaliers remain undefeated with a thrilling 114-113 win over the Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Arena. Donovan Mitchell hit a game-winning jump shot with 0.3 seconds left, just a few seconds after Damian Lillard hit a clutch jumper of his own.

Mitchell finished with 30 points on 11-25 shooting including 4-8 from beyond the three-point line. While the Cavs’ starters have seemingly taken turns having big games to start the season, it was the bench that bailed out an otherwise average night. Sam Merrill drilled five of his nine three-point attempts and Isaac Okoro had 13 points of his own to go along with eight rebounds. Maybe even more importantly, he hit three of his four three-pointers - including this clutch one late in the fourth quarter.

Evan Mobley, tasked with helping to keep Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo at bay, finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists on 7-13 shooting. Jarrett Allen had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds, as did Darius Garland with 11 points (5-13) and ten assists. In total, the Cavs had 31 assists on 44 made shots.
Even with some starters struggling and both of Milwaukee’s stars having big games, the Cavs showed a lot of grit in coming back from a big deficit. The Bucks, struggling to start the season at 1-4 coming into tonight, had their backs against the wall in desperate need of a win. After one quarter, it looked like they were well on their way.
But the resilient, still undefeated Cavs, had other plans. These two teams face each again on Monday in Cleveland.
