As we read of the devastation from hurricanes in the Southeast and extensive fires in the West, as well as broad regions of drought — including counties in Ohio — that now qualify for governmental relief, we need to remember that climate disasters are primarily caused by human-produced greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels.
