PT Cruiser driver dies, 3 others hurt in ClackCo head-on crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A head-on crash killed the 22-year-old driver of a PT Cruiser and left three other people injured in rural Clackamas County Friday, the sheriff's office said.

The crash between the PT Cruiser and a Dodge Ram pickup happened around 5 p.m. near 15000 South Springwater Road, south of Carver.

Officials said Estacada resident Ryan Edward Bloomster died at the scene, while his 22-year-old passenger was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The pickup's driver, a 51-year-old Happy Valley resident and his 12-year-old passenger were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation but authorities said the initial indication is that Bloomster didn't negotiate a curve in the road.
