NYC Marathon street closures, schedule: What you need to know

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- More than 50,000 runners from around the world are coming to New York City for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon.

The marathon is held on Sunday, Nov. 3. The first set of runners will take off at 8 a.m. and waves of runners will start their races at staggered start times through 11:30 a.m.

2024 NYC Marathon route

The 26.2-mile course starts in Staten Island, then crosses over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and into Brooklyn, up through Sunset Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint. Runners will cross into Queens then over the Queensboro Bridge into Manhattan. After crossing into the Bronx, runners will run down to a picturesque finish in Central Park.

Family Reunion

There will be a post-finish Family Reunion area for runners to meet family and friends on Central Park West between West 63rd and West 66th Street. The area will be open from noon to 6 p.m. and will have screening points for entry on Columbus Ave.
