Tottenham sent scouts to watch an exciting winger last weekend
Tottenham Hotspur are one of a whole host of clubs eyeing an exciting young wide player who is taking Swedish football by storm.
Spurs looking towards the Swedish market once again
Tottenham recently secured one of the best young talents in the Swedish top flight when they agreed a deal with Djurgarden for the transfer of Lucas Bergvall.
It looks like the Lilywhites might raid the Scandinavian country for another young talent, with Hammarby’s Bazoumana Toure now said to be on the club’s radar.
The winger had an outstanding Allsvenskan campaign so far, with 13 goal contributions (nine goals and four assists) in 21 appearances.
Tottenham scouted Bazoumana Toure
TBR Football have now revealed that Spurs were one of several clubs to send their scouts to Sweden last week to watch Toure in action.
The club’s representatives were allegedly in attendance at Hammarby’s last game at Sirius on Saturday where the 18-year-old scored twice.
According to a report in The Mirror, Manchester United and Arsenal are also among the admirers of the teenager, who is valued at around £5m.
Toure tipped to achieve big things
Hammarby manager Kim Hellberg is convinced that the young attacker has what it takes to thrive at the highest level of the game.
He said about Toure (via TBR Football): “I think he can play at the highest level possible. I don’t see why he shouldn’t have the chance to get there. There have been many players who have had the opportunity to get there but have not taken that route.
“He is unique in the way he learns things and picks things up. Now he scored two goals on his head… and we have worked so much on how he should get into the box and how he should position himself to create advantages linked to the fact that he is not a big player.”
Hellberg was then asked about the speculation linking Toure with a move to England, and he responded: “I would almost be surprised if it didn’t. There we are somewhere.”
