OKCFD releases update to overnight storm damage
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma City Fire Department (OKCFD) has released the latest assessment after overnight storms hammered the metro leaving behind areas of destruction.
Emergency crews alongside local authorities are actively working to survey the damage with OKCFD announcing the following:
"I wanted to give a quick update on the severe weather that passed through OKC. We have several structures that have sustained damage, along with downed power lines, traffic lights, and trees. Utilities have also been affected, and five individuals were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Damage assessments are still underway and there have been no fatalities reported. Additionally, we responded to several vehicles that were flooded due to the heavy rainfall."
