Sean Manaea is officially a free agent.
According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Manaea intends to opt out of his contract’s $13.5 million option. Manaea was a crucial piece in the Mets’ rotation last season, finishing the season with a 3.47 ERA over 181 2/3 innings.

According to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers, the Yankees have declined first baseman Anthony Rizzo‘s option, making him a free agent. Over 92 games last season, Rizzo struggled to get into a groove at the plate, finishing the season batting just .229.
According to Jim Bowden of CBS, the Yankees are also expected to extend Gerrit Cole‘s contract for one more year at $36 million, keeping him off the free agent market.

According to Jesse Rogers of ESPN, Joc Pederson has declined his end of a mutual option with the Diamondbacks, making him a free agent. Pederson hit .275/.393/.515 in the 2024 season.
