The National Disaster Management Authority of Afghanistan has reported that the initial estimates of the damage caused by the fire in Paghman, Kabul, amount to $1.2 million for businesses and traders.

On Sunday, November 3, the authority released a statement indicating that the fire resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to 26 others.

The fire broke out at a gas company in the “Qala-e-Haidar Khan” area of Paghman district, leading to both human casualties and financial losses.

The National Disaster Management Authority has noted that the damages from this fire are expected to increase. Meanwhile, Noorullah Ansar, the head of emergency response and firefighting, reported that six individuals have died, and nine others have been injured due to the incident.

In addition to the Paghman fire, an explosion at a tanker manufacturing facility in Ghazni province has also resulted in fatalities and significant financial losses.

The recent incidents in both Paghman and Ghazni highlight the ongoing challenges of industrial safety and emergency response in Afghanistan. The significant loss of life and property underscores the need for improved safety regulations and rapid response capabilities.

Furthermore, these disasters place additional strain on local communities already facing economic hardships. There is an urgent need for comprehensive disaster preparedness and community support initiatives to mitigate the impact of such tragedies in the future.
