A CARER stabbed a woman to death in front of her screaming elderly parents, a court heard today.

Zaneta Peto, 55, had been hired by Efthyia Constantinou, 62, to look after her mum and dad when the alleged horror unfolded.

The NHS worker appeared at the Old Bailey today charged with murdering Efthyia at her home in Edmonton, North London.

The court heard Efthyia’s mum was heard screaming as she was allegedly stabbed.

Peto is accused of carrying out the killing between 4.10pm and 4.20pm.

Prosecutor Paul Casey said police were called to the home at around 5pm where they discovered Efthyia on the kitchen floor covered in blood.

Tragically she couldn’t be saved and was declared dead after suffering “multiple laceration injuries” to her neck.

Police also found an 8cm knife with a bent blade and blood on it in the kitchen sink, it was said.

Peto sobbed as she appeared via videolink from HMP Bronzefield and shouted out “it’s all lies” in Greek.

In her police interview, the court heard she accepted that she was present at the property.

She also allegedly claimed her employer had been bullying her recently and believed messages were being sent about her to the BBC.

Peto, from Enfield, was remanded in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 31, 2025.
