Message from the President

Greetings South Suburban College Community,

As many of you are aware, the SSC Administration is in active contract negotiations with the SSC Faculty Association. First and foremost, we want to reassure the entire community that we value the contributions of each member of the institution – faculty, staff, students and our community partners alike.

The Administration has listened to and understands the concerns expressed by faculty and continues to negotiate in good faith with the SSCFA to present the best possible contract proposal. In addition, the Administration has a responsibility to ensure both the short- and long-term fiscal stability of the institution, as well as to honor our commitments to the taxpayers within College District 510. We remain fully engaged in the negotiation process, aiming to reach an agreement that supports our faculty while upholding the college’s mission.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue these discussions. The Administration and the SSC Board of Trustees remain committed to keeping the best interests of the entire college community at the forefront as we work toward a fair and amicable resolution.
