Daniel Craig's Three-Word Answer on James Bond Replacement

Daniel Craig is looking to move on from his time as James Bond with exciting projects in the pipeline like Luca Guadagnino's Queer and the forthcoming Knives Out film Wake Up Dead Man. As for who should take his place as the iconic 007 agent, Craig hasn't spent too much time thinking about it. 

The British actor spoke about the future of James Bond on screen in a Nov. 4 interview with Variety. When asked about who should take on the role next, he was frank with his answer. "I don't care," the actor chuckled.

The future of the James Bond character has been up in the air since Craig announced the 2021 installment No Time to Die would be his last. In total, he took on the role of the 007 agent in five films: 2006's Casino Royale, 2008's Quantum of Solace, 2012's Skyfall, 2015's Spectre, and 2021's No Time to Die. 

Since departing the 007 universe, Craig has become known as another sleuth character: Private detective Benoit Blanc in Rian Johnson's popular Knives Out mystery series. He first took on the role in 2019's Knives Out and reprised it in 2022's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and next year's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
