Famed Italian Tourist Destination Selling Cans of Fresh Air

Lake Como has become a hot tourist destination in recent years thanks to the picturesque Italian mountains and stunning homes and buildings. Visitors come to Como hoping to find some peace and quiet to take with them. Now, they can actually bring home a part of the Como experience—for a price, of course—and use their senses to travel back to the town any time they wish. 

According to NBC News, tourists can now purchase sealed cans of "Lake Como air" at various locations in the region. The product was created by communications company ItalyComunica and contains 13.5 ounces of "pure air from the most beautiful lake in the world," per the product website. One can will set you back about €9.90, or about $11.

"[It's] a luxurious souvenir, perfect for those who wish to rediscover the peace and elegance of this heavenly corner, sealed in a tin," the site reads. "Open it whenever you need a moment of escape, tranquility, or simply beauty."

You won't be able to buy it online, so you'll have to travel to the Lake Como region yourself to buy a can in person to take home with you. It's sold at Libreria Ubik and Le Soste al Mare restaurant in Como as well as Edicola Ruffini in Menaggio and Wonderland L’emporio delle Meraviglie in Lenno. 

With the future of fresh air in jeopardy in many parts of the world, these refreshing novelties could one day become valuable treasures.
