New Yorkers bask in November warmth at the beach

LONG BEACH, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Blue skies and breezy were the best ways to describe the weather in Long Beach on Wednesday. 

"It's amazing. I hope the whole winter is going to be like this," Flora said.

Flora and her partner, Yoram, were one of many couples taking advantage of the warm temperatures by going for a walk on the boardwalk.

"Beautiful. We love it. We don’t have to move to Florida," Yoram said.

Christian, who is from Garden City, took things a step further. He went swimming. "Warm. It was really nice. The initial shock was OK. It was warm," he said.

It was a similar story at Jones Beach. Friends from Queens, all supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris, gather there on the day after each election.

"Last time it was a great routine," Germana said. "We came here and celebrated the win, so this year I said let’s celebrate the loss. As long as we celebrate with friends. And in four years it’s going to change again."

They said the beautiful weather was an extra bonus. 

"It is awfully nice to just get together and feel whatever we’re feeling and listen to each other," Brenda said. The weather is amazing."
