Areca nut thefts are on the rise in Shivamogga district as the harvest season begins. Farmers reported multiple incidents of stolen areca nuts. One farmer lost areca nuts worth Rs 1.5 lakhs. Police complaints were filed. Farmers are worried and demand action from the police to catch the thieves.
