Galatasaray receive big boost ahead of Tottenham clash this evening
Galatasaray’s biggest superstar is expected to recover from his injury to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League this evening.
Tottenham’s toughest Europa League assignment so far
Spurs have a spotless record in the Europa League so far, having registered three wins in three games against Qarabag, Ferencvaros and AZ Alkmaar.
They are one of only three sides to have a 100 per cent record in the competition and they know that they will have one foot in the knockout stages if they can make it four in four this Thursday.
However, what awaits Ange Postecoglou‘s men is their toughest assignment of the group stage, with a trip to trip to Turkey to take on league leaders Galatasaray.
Galatasaray receive injury boost
The Istanbul giants are undefeated so far this season and they will see Thursday’s game as an opportunity to get a big scalp, with Tottenham being one of the favourites for the Europa League.
They have now received a big boost, with journalist Kagan Dursun stating that their star summer signing, Victor Osimhen, is expected to be fit for the game.
Dursun said that the on-loan Napoli star is expected to shake off his ‘minor pain’ to be ‘ready’ to take on Spurs, but he revealed that it would be ‘difficult’ for left-back Ismail Jakobs to be fit for the clash.
Tottenham expected to field a weakened side
One would expect Ange Postecoglou to rotate his team considerably, as he has done for all the Europa League matches this season.
Galatasaray would fancy their chances of beating a weakened and inexperienced Spurs side, but Postecoglou will likely have the likes of Son, Kulusevski, Johnson, Porro and others on the bench so that they can be called on if needed.
