Two village defense guards, Kuldeep Kumar and Nazir Ahmad, were tragically killed by unidentified gunmen in a forested area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmir Tigers, an offshoot of Jaish e Muhammad, claimed responsibility for the killings.
