Pedestrian struck by Metra train on North Side
A person was struck by a Metra train Friday morning on the North Side, causing extensive delays to service.
Union Pacific North inbound and outbound trains were halted near the Clybourn station, 2001 N. Ashland Ave., after the person was struck by outbound train #305, Metra posted on X, formally known as Twitter.
Outbound train #305, scheduled to Winnetka at 6:42 a.m., is stopped near Clybourn due to a pedestrian struck by the train. Extensive delays are anticipated. We will update this information as soon as it becomes available.

Few details were immediately available but the person struck was said to be trespassing, according to a Metra spokesperson.
