Prasidh Krishna takes MAJOR step towards Indian team with fiery spell against Australia A
Despite posting a modest total of 161 in the first innings, India A managed to claw back in the match against Australia A thanks to pacer Prasidh Krishna’s brilliant bowling spell. His figures of 4/50 would massively help India A bundle out the opposition for 223 on the second day.
Krishna is one of the bowlers, who is under heavy consideration for a spot in India’s team when the 5-match Border-Gavaskar series begins in Perth on November 22, and this performance made his case even stronger.
Krishna’s first scalp of the innings came in the form of Oliver Davies. Then, he would pick up 3 wickets in quick succession to leave Australia in big trouble.
Krishna’s second wicket would be that of Jimmy Peirson before he would also pick up the big wicket of Marcus Harris for 74. Finally, he dismissed Scott Boland for a duck to restrict Australia A to 167/8.
The Harris dismissal was crucial as the batter was looking set to play a big innings when he dangled his bat outside off-stump and feathered a thin edge through to Jurel. On the very next ball, Krishna dismissed Boland, who ended up giving an edge to first slip fielder Abhimanyu Easwaran.
