The Belgian chess player IM Stefan Docx is back on action with weekend. In December 2022, he was given a one-year ban after refusing a metal detector scan at the Benidorm Open. He was disqualified and not paired for the ninth and final rounds, though statistician Kenneth W. Regan was not able to find any evidence of Docx cheating.

Throwback: Stefan Docx in action at the Chess Olympiad

Vlad Ghita says, “IM Stefan Docx, who famously refused to be inspected for electronic devices at the unrated Benidorm Open 2022 and was later suspended by the FIDE EDC, is back in action at the Leuven Open in Belgium. One can only hope that he has installed the newest version of Microsoft Office!”
