Two arrested in Glenmont on felony gun, drug charges

GLENMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Bethlehem Police Department reported the arrest of two men from Glenmont last week following an incident on Winnie Place. Benjamin Shore, 34, and Kevon Julien, 39, are both facing numerous charges.

On October 30 around 12:24 a.m., Bethlehem Police responded to Winnie Place after receiving reports of a dispute involving a firearm. The ensuing investigation determined that Shore had approached a newspaper delivery person in the area and allegedly pointed a loaded pistol at him, accusing the man of robbing Shore's apartment.

Police say the delivery man was able to flee the scene unharmed. Officers searching the vicinity located Shore and identified him as the suspect, leading to his arrest.

Further investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at Shore's apartment, where police reportedly found large quantities of drugs, cash, and a stolen firearm. Shore's roommate, Kevon Julien, was also taken into custody following the search. The two now face the following charges:

Shore

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance - narcotic drug, intent to sell
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: meth, intent to sell
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance - narcotic
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon - loaded firearm
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property - firearm
  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • Fugitive from justice - State of Virginia

Julien

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance - narcotic drug, intent to sell
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: meth, intent to sell
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance - narcotic
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property - firearm
  • Criminal possession of a firearm

Shore and Julien were arraigned at the Town of Bethlehem Court. Shore was then remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility, while Julien was released under Albany County Probation's supervision. The two are scheduled to return to court on November 19.
