Richard Madeley takes shock swipe at daughter Chloe as he brands her cheap on Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening
RICHARD Madeley took a shock swipe at his daughter Chloe during tonight’s episode of Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening.
The pair took part in the ITV show today alongside Jonathan and Honey Ross and Mel B and Phoenix Brown.
The show sees some of our favourite faces team up with their children in a bid to win money for their chosen charity.
Host Romesh gets the parents to bid if they think that their offspring can answer a mixture of list and picture questions based on particular categories.
This evening, either Chloe, Honey or Phoenix were going to be quizzed on boy band members.
Romesh asked how many Mel thought Phoenix could get, and she said she could probably name two.
In the end, Honey was the person who had to try and name the group names – and she impressively named seven.
Some included JLS, The Jonas Brothers and McFly – and they ended up winning £700.
Chloe then said that she thought she would have got 10 out of the 11.
The mum-of-one then named the bands that Honey didn’t get with ease.
Richard asked his daughter: “How can I make it up to you?”
“McDonalds,” Chloe replied.
Richard said: “That’s why I love her, cheap!”
The audience gasped after the Good Morning Britain’s shock comment.
The rest of the panel opened their mouths in shock too.
Jonathan joked: “That’s rich coming from the man who won’t even by himself pants.”
Chloe recently opened up about growing up in the spotlight as ‘Richard and Judy’s daughter’
The fitness fanatic admitted that she never knew what she wanted to do growing up, and had always assumed that she would go into TV like her parents.
“Fame isn’t a measure of success, and I’ve made so much more money now than I did when I worked in TV”, she said on Olivia Atwood’s podcast, So Wrong It’s Right.
“There is actually no money in TV”.
Relating to Chloe’s struggles, Olivia added that people often downplay her achievements by arguing that she has only been given opportunities because she was on Love Island.
“Things can open doors for you, but once you’re in the door, people won’t keep booking you if you’re uninteresting”, she said.
“That’s exactly it, you have to work hard, no matter what industry you fall in to”, Chloe agreed.
