Rip off car hire companies

I feel I have to comment on the rip off charges being made by the car hire companies.

Since 2006 I have been travelling to Cyprus on average twice a year with the exception of 2020 to 2023 due to my wife being ill.

Being over 75 they are now charging extra insurance due to my age, the full cover charges have increased dramatically. The excess charge has also gone through the roof and they now take it off your credit card immediately, when it was always held in limbo until you returned the vehicle.

During our holiday in Cyprus we spoke to several people with hire vehicles all with the same opinion, all expressing doubts whether they will return. I certainly will not be back unless things change. Sad.
