Bears' battered offensive line takes another hit as LG Teven Jenkins out for game with ankle injury

The Bears are down to one starting offensive lineman in his original position against the Patriots after left guard Teven Jenkins left with an ankle injury in the second quarter. He went to the locker room, and the Bears ruled him out for the game early in the third quarter.

As they approach halftime, only center Coleman Shelton was intact from the Bears' first-string offensive line configuration, though guard Matt Pryor is filling in at right tackle because of Darnell Wright's knee injury.

The Bears already were down left tackle Braxton Jones, and now Doug Kramer replaced Jenkins.

Durability has been an ongoing concern for Jenkins, who has appeared in every game but left at least three with injuries.

The Bears are playing veteran Ryan Bates at right guard after activating him from injured reserve Saturday.

If Jenkins is out, their only remaining offensive lineman is practice squad call-up Jake Curhan. Curhan played for Wright last week against the Cardinals.

Guard Nate Davis was scratched hours before kickoff because of a back injury. He had not been on the injury report all week.
