Golden State basketball is on the way! Come join our game thread and chat about tonight’s matchup here.

The Golden State Warriors wrap up their five-game road trip with Sunday night’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game will be played at 4:00PM PT in Oklahoma City and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

The Warriors five-game winning streak came to an end after losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, 136-117. After a strong performance against the Boston Celtics earlier in the week, fans anticipated another good matchup in Cleveland. However, the Cavaliers dominated early, leveraging their size, athleticism, and shooting ability to build a staggering 41-point lead by halftime.

In the second half, the Warriors showed some resilience, outscoring the Cavaliers 75-53, but it was too little too late. Jonathan Kuminga was the team’s leading scorer on the night with 21 points in 29 minutes as Golden State opted to sit their starters in the fourth quarter. Cleveland moved to an undefeated 10-0 after the game, while the Warriors look to shake off the loss and channel their second-half momentum into their next matchup against the Thunder on Sunday.

What to watch for tonight:

Tonight, Golden State faces another challenging interior threat in Thunder center Chet Holmgren. He ranks second in the league with 2.9 blocks per game and anchors a Thunder defense that ranks first in the NBA with a defensive rating of 97.3.

One aspect the Warriors will need to clean up for tonight’s game will be turnovers. They committed 13 turnovers in the first half against Cleveland and 17 total on the night. Oklahoma City leads the NBA with 12.9 steals per game and will surely capitalize on Golden State’s carelessness with the ball.

To come out on top in Oklahoma City, the Warriors will need to minimize turnovers, match the Thunder’s energy, and hope Steph Curry and the rest of the team’s shooters can once again get back in rhythm.

Enjoy the game Dub Nation. GO WARRIORS!!!
