Siena creates its own financial aid application
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Siena College developed its own financial aid application after several colleges across the country were impacted by last year's delays to the new FAFSA rollout. The form wasn't available until Dec. 30 due to technical issues.
FAFSA said its newest form for 2025-26 will be available on or before Dec. 1. Siena, however, wants to give families a head start on the financial aid process.
The school's admissions team developed its own application called SAFSA. It went live on Nov. 1, so families could have another month to get an estimate of how much aid they could receive and budget for college expenses.
Students will still have to complete the actual FAFSA to be eligible for aid.
