BENSONHURST, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- A man was attacked on a subway train in Brooklyn on Monday, Oct. 21, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 4:25 a.m. on a southbound N train.

Police say the 24-year-old victim and a 23-year-old woman were on board the train as it was approaching the 20th Avenue station.

Three unidentified individuals approached the two and punched the man in the head, police say. They tried to take a cell phone from the woman, but failed, and fled the location.

The NYPD released the following surveillance video, showing the three suspects jumping the turnstiles at a subway station.

Submit tips to police by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, downloading the NYPD Crime Stoppers mobile app, or texting 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. Spanish-speaking callers are asked to dial 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
