ICC cancels Trophy tour in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir between BCCI and PCB’s issue for Champions Trophy
The trophy tour of the Champions Trophy 2025, which was to go through Skardu, Murree, and Muzaffarabad, has been cncelled by the International Cricket Council (ICC) because all of these are in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
This decision was made soon after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) objected to the announcement made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the above mentioned towns being included in the tour.
The PCB had planned this trophy tour in expectation of the eight-team competition, which will begin in Pakistan in February or March of 2025. However, according to the information that has been received by Sports Tak, the trophy tour has been cancelled in places that are located inside the disputed property of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In a statement, PCB confirmed that the ICC notified it of the ruling of BCCI. The Pakistan government has received ICC’s notification from PCB and will decide what to do next. The future of Champions Trophy is uncertain as a result of PCB and BCCI’s dilema.
