'Hamilton' returning to Keller Auditorium for 2025 season

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Tony-award-winning megahit musical is once again returning to Portland's Keller Auditorium and tickets will go on sale Monday, Broadway in Portland announced.

Described as "a revolutionary story of passion, unstoppable ambition, and the dawn of a new nation," Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Hamilton" follows the life of Alexander Hamilton as he rises from student to lawyer to politician and eventually to founding father.

The sung and rapped-through musical has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education since its debut nearly 10 years ago, Broadway in Portland said.

At the 70th Tony Awards, "Hamilton" received a record-breaking 16 nominations and won 11 awards, received the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a filmed version of the Broadway stage production was released in 2020 on Disney+.

But for those who have yet to see the show in person, showrunners are cautioning patrons to always trust credible ticket-selling sites.

“It's tempting to get tickets any way you can. There are many sites and people who are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets," noted producer Jeffrey Seller. "For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the Portland engagement should be made through BroadwayinPortland.com.”

Performances will run at the Keller Auditorium from March 4 through March 23, 2025.

Tickets will officially go on sale at 10 a.m. on Nov. 18. Patrons can purchase up to nine tickets per order here. But for groups of 10 or more, email GroupSales@PortlandOpera.org.

There will also be a lottery for 40 $10 seats for all performances. However, those details have yet to be released.
