'Prolific' sexual abuser found guilty of assaulting 9 women, could have more victims

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who authorities say worked as a nightclub dancer and lured his victims to his home has been found guilty of dozens of charges — including multiple counts of rape — related to the sexual abuse of nine women.

Investigators say he may have more victims that haven't been identified.

Last week, a Washington County Circuit Court judge found 33-year-old Ali Muhammed Quraishi guilty of 23 counts, all of which were related to the assaults or sexual assaults of the women, the Washington County District Attorney's Office said.

Quraishi's guilty verdict comes after an in-depth investigation by the Beaverton Police Department, which began in 2022. While the investigation was being carried out, two sexual assaults occurred and the lead detective learned of even more victims.

Quraishi assaulted the women between 2016 and 2023, officials said. The victims "were strangers to the defendant and to each other," the DA's office said in a release.

"The defendant met his victims at Silverado and Stag nightclubs in Downtown Portland where he worked as a dancer," the Washington County DA's office said. "He supplied the women with alcohol and lured them back to his apartment in Beaverton. He then proceeded to engage in sex acts with the victims while they were in conditions in which they could not consent."

In total, across two separate court cases, Quraishi is facing five counts of first-degree rape, nine counts of first-degree sex abuse, three counts of first-degree sodomy, three counts of first-degree invasion of personal privacy, one count of fourth-degree assault and one count of first-degree unlawful dissemination of an intimate image.

Quraishi is set for a sentencing hearing on January 6, 2025.

Investigators said they believe there could be "additional, unidentified victims." Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police.
