Kyisha Smith, 42, was convicted of the May 2023 homicide
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A jury found an Albany woman guilty of second-degree murder in Albany County Court on Wednesday. Kyisha Smith, 42, was convicted of the May 2023 homicide.
A jury found that on Friday, May 14, 2023, Smith killed James West, 58, at South Mall Towers on South Pearl Street. Police found West with a stab wound in his neck and pronounced dead on the scene.
Smith is facing a possible 25-year to life sentence in prison. She will remain in Albany County Jail until her sentencing, scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2025.
