Lafayette man charged in connection with Hopkins Street drug bust, police say

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A 35-year-old Lafayette man is facing numerous drug-related charges after a Hopkins Street home was searched on Monday, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
In a news release, Lafayette police said Donovan Duhon was arrested and faces the following charges:
- Three counts of possession with the intent to distribute schedule I narcotics
- Three counts of possession with the intent to distribute schedule II narcotics
- Four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Four counts of possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance
- Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse
- Monies derived from drug proceeds
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Improper display of a license plate
- Driver must be licensed
- Bench warrant
Authorities said officers with the Lafayette Police Narcotics Street Team conducted a traffic stop investigation Monday in the 700 block of Hopkins Street.
During that time, officers were able to secure a narcotics search warrant for a residence located in the same block of the traffic stop," authorities said.
According to the news release, the following items were found during the search:
- Fentanyl / approximately 777 grams / DEA street value of $310,800
- Methamphetamine / approximately 72 grams /DEA street value of $14,400
- Marijuana / approximately 318 grams / DEA street value of $21,600
- Synthetic Marijuana / approximately 1,080 grams / DEA street value of $21,600
- Crack Cocaine / approximately 3 grams / DEA street value of $375
- THC Vape Cartridges / 2 dosage units / DEA street value of $200
- (1) AR-15 Rifle
- (1) Ruger .380 caliber handgun
- (1) Ruger 9mm handgun
- (1) Taurus 9mm handgun
- $3,337 in U.S. Currency
