The WTO Secretariat hosted a conference titled “How AI Shapes and is Shaped by International Trade” on 21 November to explore the opportunities and challenges artificial intelligence (AI) presents for global trade. The event brought together representatives of government, international organizations, academia and the private sector, who discussed how AI may impact services trade, customs, agriculture and intellectual property and how to ensure trustworthy AI. The conference focused on how cooperation on trade policies can leverage AI to boost economic growth while also addressing the potential risks of AI.
