Ronald McDonald House decorated for the holidays
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local nonprofit is helping spread some holiday cheer. The Ronald McDonald House in Albany was decorated with holiday lights on Friday.
About 30 National Grid employees volunteered their time to string up the lights and put in a Christmas tree. Organizers said the annual holiday display means a lot to the people they serve.
"It brings some of that holiday spirit and extra joy and light for families who are staying here at the Ronald McDonald House," CEO Kimmy Venter said.
The Ronald McDonald House provides free housing to families of children who are receiving medical treatment at Albany Medical Center and cannot easily get to the hospital. National Grid said decorating the house is one of the most popular events among their employees.
