Chilly weather continues, multiple fronts in the forecast through Thanksgiving week

0

It's going to be a chilly night across Acadiana, especially with clear skies and light winds. Readings will fall quickly after sunset, reaching the upper 30s to lower 40s by morning. A frost could be possible across central parts of the state, where temperatures could sneak closer to the mid-30s.

A warming trend is anticipated tomorrow and Monday with highs getting back into the lower 80s on Monday. This is due to a very progressive upper-level pattern that will take shape across the U.S. This pattern will bring multiple fronts and temperatures swings across the area through the next seven days.

Warm temperatures are expected out ahead of the first front on Monday. This front will move in Monday night and Tuesday morning. Although it will come in mostly dry, a few showers could be possible through this time period with the frontal passage.

This front will not be overly strong, but will push highs back into the 70s Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

A stronger front will arrive by Thanksgiving night. So far, the Thanksgiving holiday looks warm and cloudy with a chance of showers increasing later in the day. This is due to the second expected front moving through later in the night. The temperature drop could be much sharper behind the second one, pushing highs back into the lower 60s by next Friday.
