‘One who never gives up…’: KL Rahul’s wife reacts to his Record Partnership in Perth Test

A lot of people questioned the selection of KL Rahul in the playing XI for the Test in Perth. Though he had support by the head coach and the team management to open the inning, a few former cricketers wished for him to bat in the middle order.

However, KL Rahul who was under pressure, proved all the criticisers wrong. After being dismissed by an inconclusive decision by the umpire in the first inning, Rahul played patiently and made a knock of 77 runs, and shared a record breaking partnership of 201 runs with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal.

As KL Rahul put all his critics to silence, his wife Athiya Shetty went over to her official Instagram account and congratulated him. The Bollywood actress posted a photo of Rahul with the caption, “The one who never gives up, never backs down (heart emoji).”

Rahul and Jaiswal shared the highest opening partnership for India on Australian soil, as they put 201 runs in 63 overs. Rahul missed a chance to score his second century on Australia as he got caught edged by Alex Carey in the first session of Day 3.
