Man accused of taking a 'shooting stance' at police faces charges: NYPD

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – NYPD officers shot a man armed with a gun who allegedly took a “shooting stance” at cops in the Bronx on Friday, police said.
The shooting happened after the officers responded to a 911 call about a large dispute involving a gun at 755 White Plains Road around 3:10 p.m., according to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell.
“When they respond to the rear of 755 White Plains Road, the video shows us two of the perpetrators coming through a gate as our police officers pull up in a car. At this time, the perpetrator pulls a weapon, a 9mm, loaded, takes a shooting stance at our officers,” Chell said.
The officers opened fire and shot the suspect twice in the leg, Chell said. The suspect was hospitalized. A gun and knife were recovered at the scene.
On Sunday, the NYPD announced that the suspect, identified as Chase Lackard, 19, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing police officers.
The police chief Lackard was previously arrested in Manhattan and indicted on a gun charge this past September.
