Hearts fans spotted carrying ‘rocket launchers’ before Celtic clash amid pyro march
HEARTS eventually succumbed to a 4-1 defeat to Celtic last night, after holding the champions to a goalless first half.
And the Jambos supporters tried to crank up the heat on Celtic with a pyro march before kickoff.
Hearts held out for the first half against Celtic at Tynecastle[/caption] But the Hoops roared back in the second half to win 4-1, with substitute Adam Idah hitting a brace[/caption]Neil Critchley’s men couldn’t produce any fireworks on the pitch as the Hoops eventually broke them down with goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and an Adam Idah double.
But the Hearts fans were in explosive form outside Tynecastle before the game.
During a march to the stadium, fans lit red pyrotechnics and were escorted by police through the streets of Edinburgh.
And one video even showed a couple of supporters with ROCKET LAUNCHERS shooting fireworks into the sky.
It might have helped heat the fans up at least, on a freezing cold day in Scotland which saw multiple games, including Rangers vs Dundee United, delayed or abandoned.
And the game at Tynecastle was also subject to a stoppage – but it had nothing to do with Storm Bert’s snowy influence.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has praised his players for their dismantling of Hearts after so many of his stars were away on international duty.
Celts appeared a little sluggish in the first half but broke the hosts’ resistance in the second.
And Rodgers was full of praise for the Hoops’ international stars and the effort they put in after a taxing week.
He said: “I have to say it’s a great testament to the mentality coming off the back of the travel that some of these guys have done.
“But you’ve got guys that are travelling, the Japanese players for example, halfway around the world.
“Austin Trusty, Ally Johnson, travelling away and joining the team on Friday.
“The beauty is that it was a fantastic second half, but I know we’ll get that synchronisation back again.”
