Oregon McDonald’s employee arrested for alleged theft of $22,000

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An employee at a Coos Bay McDonald’s was arrested on Nov. 21 for allegedly stealing more than $22,000 from the local McDonald’s located at 772 Broadway St.
The employee, 28-year-old Coos Bay resident Melinda McCormick, is believed to have taken more than $22,000 worth of bank deposits from the business during the span of several months, the Coos Bay Police Department said.
Police were able to recover most of the deposits, which were never delivered to the bank.
“Officers contacted the suspect … and were able to recover all but approximately $4,700 worth of the missing bank deposits,” the Coos Bay Police Department said.
McCormick was booked into the Coos County Jail for aggravated theft in the first degree.
