Rivers Casino donates over 300 turkeys to local charities

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady delivered over 300 turkeys to local charities and community groups on Monday. The donations will go toward the organizations facilitating their respective Thanksgiving dinners later this week.

"As a proud community partner, Rivers Casino and Resort is here to help out, especially during the holiday season," said Linda Waters, Rivers Casino's Vice President of Human Resources. "We're so happy that the turkeys we donated and delivered today to these amazing organizations will be used in holiday meals for those in need throughout the Capital Region."

The groups who received turkeys include Bethesda House, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, Joseph's House and Shelter, Liberty ARC, Safe Inc., SEAT Center, SUNY Schenectady, Sycamore Collaborative, Unity House of Troy, and YWCA of Schenectady. Rivers Casino will also be delivering 100 Thanksgiving dinners to the Schenectady Police Department on Thursday.
