NY Assemblyman Will Barclay re-elected minority leader

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Republicans in the New York State Assembly re-elected Will Barclay as minority leader for next year's legislative session.

Barclay was first elected to the assembly 22 years ago and represents Oswego County. He has been minority leader for the past four years.

Democrats will have a supermajority in the assembly meaning they have at least two-thirds of the seats. Democrats will not have a supermajority in the state senate after republicans flipped a seat.

A supermajority allows the majority party to override a governor's veto.
