New Delhi: 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the most talked about player in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Rajasthan Royals have now added Vaibhav to their team for Rs 1 crore 10 lakh, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a left-handed batter who is from Bihar, the youngster is known for hitting long sixes. Currently, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest cricketer to be sold in the history of IPL.
Talking about Vaibhav’s entry in the auction, both Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals started bidding for Vaibhav. Both teams were eager to add Vaibhav. In the end, Rajasthan Royals won the bid and added him to their team for Rs 1.1 crore.

Robin Singh revealed a lot of things regarding Vaibhav Suryavanshi over his selection in IPL 2025.
How was Vaibhav different from other players?
‘He was totally different from other players since he was 8 at the age, so at the age of 8 he used to play matches with almost the under-19 stage players and sometimes he played with the superiors too. So he is god gifted, if you see that power hitting at this age, I have never seen that much power in my life. I have seen many players but Vaibhav is totally different, never seen such timing and power in any player,’ coach Robin Singh replied.
How did you know that Vaibhav was going to be a big thing in Cricket?
‘I think the whole credit for believing in Vaibhav for cricket goes to his parents, at the age of 8 his father had a belief that he would definitely do good and be a big thing, there was not good infrastructure in Samastipur. So when Vaibhav was 8, his father used to take him to Patna 4-5 days a week, since 2019 his father used to travel from Samastipur to Patna for Vaibhav’s growth. On the other hand, his mother used to prepare lunch for him so that he didn’t miss his meal, they are the ones who saw the talent before the coaches,’ coach Robin Singh replied.
Being the young Indian cricketer, was Vaibhav Suryavashi naughty?
‘No he is not naughty, he is very sincere and a good kid. He only liked two things that are cricket and food and nothing else he liked, he came to bat and after his batting was done he went on to eat and after eating he went to batting again. These are the only things he likes the most,’ coach Robin Singh replied.
How did you feel when Vaibhav Suryavanshi was sold in the IPL Auction for a big price?
‘It was a proud and emotional moment for me and well, I already knew that he would surely play in the IPL and I was almost certain regarding his selection in the IPL 2025. There is reason behind it because we have seen scout’s reviews where there was a lot of craze for him from the teams, even his trials very quite very good from Delhi and Rajasthan,’ coach Robin Singh replied.
How does Vaibhav feel when he gets out of the match?
‘I have noticed this many times that when he gets out he starts crying like a kid, after all, he is a kid but yes he cries and gets disappointed when he gets out in the match, I used to tell him it’s okay to get out but he cries for a moment and he always takes every game seriously, once he started hitting with the bat he doesn’t care who is against him,’ coach Robin Singh replied.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a century at the international level. He achieved this feat during India’s Under-19 Test while playing against Australia in Chennai. Vaibhav scored 104 runs in just 62 balls in that match. He completed his century in just 59 balls. This was the fastest youth Test hundred by an Indian, while it was the second youth Test hundred in the world.
